The corporation has also been accused of corrupt business practices. “In 2010 Royal Dutch Shell was one of a group of seven companies that paid a combined $236 million to U.S. authorities to settle charges of having violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by bribing foreign officials to expedite the importation of oil drilling equipment into countries such as Nigeria, Brazil and Angola.” Link to source

Frustratingly, it looks like Shell knew about the global climate change damage caused by its products in 1980s but refused to warn the public. Link to source
