Unethical corporate behaviour has become a norm. Manipulative marketing, monopolistic growth strategies, tax avoidance and environmentally unsustainable production are commonly regarded as “how business is done”. These practices and more have contributed to the gross inequality in our society.
Today, the richest 1% own half the world's wealth because our economic systems have been fixed to benefit a few at the cost of many. We’re here to change that.
Our vision is a world where ethical, purpose-driven businesses are the norm. Rather than contribute to society’s challenges, businesses will benefit society.
Purpose driven businesses have a meaningful, enduring reason to exist that benefits society.
Pitched was incorporated in 2016 as Talenpac. We initially set out to help social enterprises in developing countries scale their impact by developing their human capital. Our work taught us that tackling inequality would require changing the larger systems of wealth distribution.
Inspired by the BCorp movement and Anand Giridharadas’s book “Winners Take All”, we pivoted Talenpac and launched Pitched in 2019. Pitched’s mission is to build a purpose-driven job market. We believe if more job seekers demand employers behave ethically and with purpose, more businesses will be forced to become purpose-driven.
